Stella Corporation, a leading Japanese PCB software company, has completed its support for Gerber X2 in Stella Vision. The output has been fully verified by Ucamco, who confirm it conforms to the current X2 specification.

Ucamco’s Gerber X2 format provides a fail safe, standardized method for automatic transfer of layout data and PCB design information from CAD to CAM. Today, more than 20 major software vendors are supporting the Gerber X2 format confirming its status of de facto standard image format for the PCB manufacturing industry.

Stella Corporation CEO Nobuo Otake said, “Using the latest version of Gerber X2 shows our commitment to this format and allows our customers to optimize the exchange of PCB fabrication data with the PCB manufacturers.”

“Ucamco is impressed with the high quality of the Gerber X2 output of Stella Vision," added Ucamco Managing Director Karel Tavernier. "By implementing this new technology, Stella Vision renders good service to the progress of the PCB industry.”

Living in a Material World: High-Speed Design Strategies

01/13/2022 | I-Connect007 Editorial Team
Any discussion about high-speed PCB design techniques would be incomplete without considering the properties and requirements of the materials. Your material selection drives much of your design strategy when you’re operating at 28 gigabits per second or faster. We recently spoke with high-speed design expert Lee Ritchey of Speeding Edge, and electronic materials veteran Tarun Amla of Avishtech and Thintronics, about the relationship between advanced PCB materials and high-speed design techniques. They discuss the challenges facing designers and engineers working with materials at speeds that were considered unreachable not long ago, and what designers need to know about material selection as board speeds continue rising toward the stratosphere.
