Miraco Inc. is now officially certified to ISO 9001:2015 (Certificate: C2015-02071-R2). Both Miraco South (Tijuana, Mexico) and Miraco North (Manchester, New Hampshire) facilities were part of the one-and-a-half-day in-depth onsite audits, which evaluated Miraco's QMS against the new ISO standard. Documentation was analyzed, employees were questioned, and processes were verified. After the dust settled, Miraco was found to have a robust system which was implemented, effective, and in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

"Excited? Yes. Surprised? No. Since the day we decided to take this step forward, we committed to ourselves and to our customers that this was and would always be an all-hands on-going effort. Evidence of this can be seen from Miraco's top down commitment. We believe there is only one way to properly run a company; the right way. We do not believe in shortcuts or less than 100 percent effort. I want to thank all Miraco employees for embracing the Miraco 'customer first' mindset," says David Bouley, president of Miraco.

Miraco views this new certification as just another addition to an already strong foundation, which enables Miraco to offer quality products and engineering solutions to its customers.

EIPC Technical Snapshot: Supply Chain and Material Price Pressures

04/26/2021 | Pete Starkey, I-Connect007
EIPC’s seventh Technical Snapshot webinar on April 14 was timely and appropriate. In the context of current supply chain issues and material price pressures facing the PCB industry, particularly in Europe, the EIPC team brought together an outstanding group of experts—each a leading authority in his field—to analyse and comment upon the areas of concern and to respond to questions raised by a capacity audience. As Alun Morgan said, “If you don’t use the European supply chain, you won’t have it anymore!”

The Future Is Electric

04/13/2021 | KJ McCann and Brian Zirlin, Aurora Circuits
Worldwide research and development of the automotive industry began as early as the 17th century and since then has taken several different design paths, with each country forging its own innovative trail and hundreds of prototypes emerging into the market. Vehicles—with steam-powered, electric, and combustion engines—began to play a major role, not only in the Industrial Revolution, but in everyday life. Although many believe that electric vehicles (EVs) are relatively new to the market, they have actually been around since 1832.

My Thoughts From the Virtual Show

04/11/2021 | Patty Goldman, I-Connect007
Gosh, I sure missed the live event! I listened in on several technical sessions, the awards ceremony, the keynotes, and the Hall of Fame management session. I tried a couple of professional development courses but got the frownie face on my screen and didn’t go back in. I have almost 90 days(!) to browse them to my heart’s content, so what the heck. There were good points and a few not so good things about this first ever virtual conference. You probably experienced some yourself.
