Letter from the Editor: Dawn of a New Flex007 Platform

Reading time ( words)

Due to an increased demand for flex content, I-Connect007 has decided to create a new quarterly Flex007 Magazine to better serve our readers. We are excited to launch this publication on April 23, 2018. Thus, today we will be sending out the last edition of our flex newsletter. Thanks for all of your support.

The Flex007 Magazine will focus on the flex and rigid-flex circuit markets with information to serve flex system designers, electrical engineers, flex PCB designers, and anyone responsible for integrating flex into their products at the OEM/CEM level. Flex developers will now have access to a publication that is dedicated to assisting them with their technical needs, along with their market and supply chain challenges.

We look forward to continuing to provide you with original, relevant content related to flex and rigid-flex circuits. To subscribe to Flex007 Magazine, click hereYou will also find the latest news about flex and rigid-flex circuits incorporated into our Daily News newsletters in the future.

Sincerely,

Andy Shaughnessy

Decreasing Bend Radius and Improving Reliability- Part III

Application: Design guidelines to improve the flexibility and reliability of flexible circuits. Most issues that arise with flex circuits can be eliminated in the early stages of the design phase, and special planning must occur when the circuit is required to bend. Many novices will design a circuit that calls for bending the flex in too tight of a bend radius, which can cause damage to the circuit and lower the reliability of the end product.

Flex Standards Update With Nick Koop

11/21/2019 | Andy Shaughnessy, Design007 Magazine
This month, I interviewed Nick Koop—director of flex technology at TTM Technologies, a veteran “flex guy” and instructor, and a leader of several IPC flex standards committees. Nick provides an update for the committees he’s involved with and discusses some of the challenges that he sees as more designers enter the world of flex.

Decreasing Bend Radius and Improving Reliability—Part I

Many of the issues that arise when using a flex circuit come from a lack of knowledge about how to properly design one, especially when the circuit is required to bend.
