Chin-Poon to Pursue Profitability in 2019

Taiwan-based automotive PCB specialist Chin-Poon Industrial expects to return to profitability in 2019 as its major factory operations in Taoyuan, northern Taiwan are returning to normal after being hit by a deadly fire in April, Digitimes reports.
Chin-Poon estimated losses of over NT$1.2 billion ($38.9 million), stemming from the fire that killed seven people including five firefighters. The company received about NT$350 million in damages from insurances as of the end of third-quarter 2018. The company has stepped up capacity expansion at its Changshu plant in China while also allocating more production to its factory site in Thailand to make up the shortfall of production estimated at 15% caused by the fire, according to Digitimes.
