Copper-clad laminate (CCL) maker Elite Material (EMC) has reported net profits fell 37.3% to NT$1.75 billion ($56.8 million) in 2018, while revenues slipped about 3% on year to NT$22.89 billion, according to Digitimes.

EMC specializes in high-density interconnect (HDI) board materials for handsets. A slowdown in the global smartphone market, coupled with small upgrades made to smartphone specs, eroded EMC's profitability last year.
