Iteq Settles Patent Dispute with Isola; TUC Still in Litigation
November 20, 2008 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
As reported previously, Isola USA filed patent infringement complaints against Taiwan-based copper clad laminate (CCL) makers Taiwan Union Technology (TUC) and Iteq in September 2008. Iteq has now settled with Isola, the company recently announced, while TUC is still in litigation.
On November 19, 2008, the following statement was posted on Iteq's Web site: "According to patent infringement issue with ISOLA, [the two parties have] reached a settlement...and ITEQ stipulates and admits the validity and enforceability of the Patents at Issue and agrees not to make, use, sell, offer for sale or distribute its product 200DK or any other products that fall within the scope of any claim of the Patents at Issue anywhere in the world."
Iteq suspended production and sampling of related products in September 2008 after Isola made its complaint resulting in a total impact of NT $2 to 3 million (US $60,000 to 90,000) or just 0.03% of Iteq's sales for the first eight months of the year.
