Ruwel International Purchases Ledia Direct Imager from Ucamco

Ruwel International, a leading European PCB manufacturer, has invested in a Ledia direct imaging system from Ucamco for its solder mask production. Mr. van Dierendonck, CEO of Ruwel, explains: “As Ledia is the most advanced direct imaging solution for solder mask production Ruwel will enhance its lead in high reliability applications with this investment and better serve the most demanding customers.”  

Mr. Schlüter, Head of Technology at Ruwel, adds: “The Ledia will be fully automated and integrated in Ruwels’ ERP system. Next to the increased technical capabilities, this investment in LEDIA will bring RUWEL maximum flexibility in its soldermask department. Support is provided by Ucamco.”

One year ago, Happy Holden's review of the 2018 IPC High-Reliability Forum reported the presentation of J.R. Strickland and Jerry Magera, who described research at MSI Applied Technology into overcoming the risk of stacked microvia failures escaping standard quality assurance procedures. Their report provided a basis for the IPC white paper IPC-WP-023, which addressed reliability issues associated with stacked microvias and included data collected from several other printed circuit manufacturers.
