Ventec Europe is pleased to announce the appointment of Liam Lynch as Sales & Customer Service Manager for Ventec UK.

Well known and highly respected in the UK printed circuit community, Liam brings with him a wealth of industry experience. With an honours degree in computing and a background as a sales executive in the publishing industry, Liam joined a UK-based distributor of laminates, prepregs and ancillary materials and has spent the last 18 years as Sales Manager, developing the UK customer base, expanding sales and introducing new products to market.

COO Mark Goodwin explained the rationale behind Liam’s appointment: “As our organisation continues to evolve, we recognise the need to bring our internal and external sales teams in the UK and UK-managed territories under a single reporting line and manager, and Liam is the perfect candidate for the position, with his proven management capabilities and his extensive product and market knowledge. His experience will be instrumental in developing sales of selected complementary products such as drill entry and exit materials, release films, press packaging materials and including the services of our high technology mass lamination facility all supported through the Ventec UK infrastructure.”

Liam Lynch commented “Although I have greatly enjoyed my achievements over 18 years in laminate distribution, I am increasingly aware of the market trend for the OEM to set the specification and to demand that PCB suppliers purchase nominated substrate materials direct from the primary manufacturer. I have a clear understanding of Ventec’s commitment to technology, quality and customer service, and look forward to becoming a member of the Ventec UK management team.”

Avoiding CAF Failures at the IPC High-reliability Forum

12/31/1969 | Andy Shaughnessy, I-Connect007
Foresite CEO Terry Munson recently spoke with Andy Shaughnessy during the IPC High-Reliability Forum and Microvia Summit in Baltimore about his presentation on the causes of conductive anodic filament (CAF), the dangers of resin starvation, and what advice he'd give to PCB designers to avoid those types of failures.

A Guide to High-reliability PCBs from Design to Specification

07/24/2019 | Jeff Beauchamp, NCAB Group
Creating reliable PCBs is an outcome of considering all aspects that can affect reliability as early as possible in the design process. The further down the design process, the more expensive and risky it can be to fix. As they say, everything starts with the design. Because a good board design improves the reliability of the end product and lessens the risk of failure.
