Cirexx Ordered to Remain Open During COVID-19 Crisis

Reading time ( words)

Cirexx International announced today that despite a California Lockdown Order they have been notified by several defense contractors and the Department of Defense that they need to remain open and operational during the Covid-19 crisis due to the number of DPAS DX and D0 rated orders and critical medical components orders for the electronic health care industry. Workers not directly related with Printed Wiring Board manufacturing are working from home, but the Cirexx production operation is at nearly 100%.

Philipp Menges, Cirexx President and CEO released the following statement:

During this time of uncertainty as our country grapples with the Covid-19 virus situation, I want to reach out you and ensure you that Cirexx International is committed to the continued support of requirements that relate to our National Security and National Health infrastructure for the benefit of our country and our customers.

Over the past several weeks we have quickly adopted significant strategic measures specifically designed to address this crisis. As a result, Cirexx currently has the resources necessary–a strong-tenured and available staff, the highest technology equipment and an ample supply of raw materials–for the smooth continuity for our production efforts. We have customer service personnel available to discuss every aspect of your Printed Wiring Board (PWB) quotes and orders. Cirexx is also working very closely with its supply chain to assure uninterrupted service of all necessary raw materials and consumables necessary for our operation.

My staff stands prepared to assist you with any aspects of your PWB requirements and ensure that you get the full force of the Cirexx advantage to meet your needs. I am confident in their abilities and our collective will to support your programs. Please feel free to contact me concerning any issue related to this situation. Thank you for your time and interest in Cirexx International.

We are specifically well stocked with a significant number of “exotic” and hard to obtain raw materials, including rigid and flexible dielectric/copper combinations from manufacturers such as Rogers, Dupont, Isola, Panasonic and Arlon. These materials allow us to meet most, if not all, of the critical existing and new requirements that are necessary during this crisis in a QUICK TURN mode.

Customers can contact their salesperson for updates on production status or for new item quotations and evaluations. Or visit the website at: www.cirexx.com.

A headline in a Sunday newspaper had caught John Ling’s eye as he composed the invitation to this fourth EIPC seminar: “Now, more than ever, we need to talk.” Thus, it is that EIPC decided to run another technical webinar, which was just like one of their in-person conferences, except no one had to travel—or got to enjoy a beer or excellent food with convivial company.

What’s Driving Price Increases for CCL and Prepreg?

01/20/2021 | Mark Goodwin, Ventec International Group
Demand for copper foil is increasing from both PCB and battery production for e-mobility, leading to an upward price pressure for copper foils as post lockdown pent-up demand starts to exceed capacity. Lead times are stretching and prices increasing, particularly for heavy copper foils (2 oz./70 micron and above) as capacity is repurposed to maximize square-meter output for lightweight foils to increase capacity for lithium battery production.
