Matrix Electronics, North America’s leading quick-turn supplier for raw materials to the Printed Circuit Industry, announced it was awarded the Global Supplier of the Year Award for 2022 by TTM Technologies at their annual Supplier Day Conference held on August 5, 2022.
Matrix’s key supply chain partners ̶ Jinzhou Precision Carbide Tools, and Panasonic Electronic Materials, also won awards in their respective category at this year’s conference. This marks the second consecutive year that Matrix and its Key Supply Partners have won 3 of the 9 available awards.
“We are proud and honored to receive this prestigious award from TTM for a second consecutive year. Matrix is dedicated to continuous improvement and exceeding TTM’s expectations in 2023 and beyond”, says Jeff Cassell, VP of Sales at Matrix.
Marty Cormier, Director Supply Chain Management for TTM North America adds: “Matrix is the 2022 TTM Distributor of the Year, having earned that trophy for the second year in a row! From a commercial aspect, Matrix fought hard to remain cost competitive through a very challenging period. In addition, their On Time Delivery, Quality, and Technical support were best in class for North American distributors. Matrix works with our teams to develop stocking programs, vendor managed inventory, on-site process audits and technical training. Thanks for the outstanding performance and continuing support. Great Job Matrix!”

Recently, we met with Nathan Martin, group purchasing director; Jean-Christophe Miralles, supply chain director for Europe and U.S., and Lea Maurel, Americas marketing manager. This wide-ranging conversation dug into market drivers, supply chain challenges and how ICAPE creates consistency on its manufacturing floor. Complementing the supply chain control is ICAPE’s engineering experise, which it uses to increase customer yields and quality. Corporate sustainability is a key strategic initiative for ICAPE, and it was enlightening to learn just how holistic ICAPE’s approach to sustainability is.

For the past two years, EIPC’s Technical Snapshot series has kept us extremely well-informed on developments in printed circuit materials and manufacturing technologies. But what is currently happening in the global PCB market, and how is Europe and the rest of the world affected by the current world situation? The 19th chapter (coincidentally on Oct. 19) in the series gave us a privileged opportunity to find out, as two leading industry analysts presented their observations and opinions in a webinar introduced and moderated by EIPC technical director Tarja Rapala-Virtanen.

Barry Matties and Nolan Johnson recently spoke with Alun Morgan, technology ambassador at Ventec International Group and president of EIPC, about global supply chain challenges, as well as efforts by government and industry to mitigate some of these issues. Alun discusses the need to have more than one source, pricing strategies for fabricators who are facing increases in costs across the supply chain, and why we all need to work together to help the industry in times like this.
