Amphenol Corporation released its 2022 Sustainability Report.
“Amphenol continues to strengthen our commitment to corporate sustainability across our organization, all while delivering exceptional performance for our shareholders,” said Amphenol President and Chief Executive Officer, R. Adam Norwitt.
“During 2022, we made excellent progress on our sustainability efforts. I am pleased to report that we have achieved all eight of the sustainability goals we set in our 2019 and 2021 reports, and in this report, we are setting eight new goals with target dates of either 2025 or 2030.”
“Our substantial progress towards making our company more sustainable for the long term is made possible only through the dedication and hard work of our truly outstanding employees around the world. Without them, we would not be able to protect our employees, reduce our environmental footprint and support our communities, all while delivering value to our customers, partners, employees, communities and shareholders.”

Just because it’s a holiday week doesn’t mean the news is slow. Okay, maybe a little bit slower than normal, but “slower” can also be the same as “fast, just less fast.” We’re going a bit deeper into the list for our must-reads looking for high-impact hard news. I mean, you’ve all read the curated stuff already, no sense rehashing that. In fact, I’ll even throw in a bonus news item just because there was some good stuff this week. Have a great New Year’s weekend.

Normally, the holiday season is a slow(ish) news time, but this year just feels different. My opinion is that the technology industry banked up a whole bunch of innovations and new products during the pandemic disruptions, which are coming to market as quickly as possible. The November/December news is full of technology discussion, as my selections this week clearly demonstrate.

A perennial and yet irregular category on the popular game show Jeopardy is “potpourri.” My dad, as I was growing up, pronounced the word as “pot-poury.” It wasn’t until I was a sophomore in college that my girlfriend’s mom—who had a penchant for a soupcon of French euphemism in her tête-à-têtes—pronounced the word properly: “po-pu-ree.” Such are the risks of growing up just a bit rural.
