APCB Kunshan Plant to Double Production Capacity Next Year
Taiwan-based PCB maker APCB achieved a record high in October in both its <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Taiwan and mainland China plants, generating $5.94 million (NT$ 192 million) and $706,600 (Rmb 5.25 million), respectively. The company aims to double its capacity at its Kunshan plant to 1.4 million square feet in 2008.
Taxation Policy Changes in Mainland China to Adversely Affect Taiwan Companies' Profits
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Taxation has adjusted the tax refund rates since September last year to put forward the country's industrial structure changes. The new regulation had the largest impact on Taiwan's export industry, which is based in mainland China.
The last round of adjustments, released on June 19 (which took effect on July 1), has left Taiwan companies unprepared, with no transition period.
Shanghai Printronics' Songjiang Plant Commences Operation
Shanghai Printronics Circuit Corp. recently finished moving to its new 12,000-square-meter plant in Songjiang District, mainland China. The new plant will focus on design, manufacturing, sales and R&D of multilayer PCBs and HDI boards.
The planned monthly capacity is 280,000 square meters. The plant began trial production in August. Volume production, meanwhile, started in September. The facility is capable of manufacturing up to 14-layer PCBs.
IC Substrate Orders to Boost Nanya PCB's Performance in November
Strong orders for IC substrates boosted Nanya PCB's revenues to $114.85 million (NT$ 3.713 billion) in October, up 17.32% year-on-year. The company's stock price likewise jumped to $6.39 (NT$ 206.5) after releasing its third quarter results, leading all Taiwan-based PCB makers.
Nanya PCB is confident it will sustain its revenue growth in November due to continuing orders for IC substrates.
Unimicron Hit a New High with NT$ 3.97 Billion Revenue in October
PCB maker Unimicron generated NT$ 3.97 billion revenue for October with 47.28% year on year growth.
As the company has had strong shipments for high added-value products such as HDI and IC substrate products, it also generated NT$ 31.3 billion for Jan-Oct revenue with 38.19% increase YoY.
