"Those Jobs Aren't Coming Back, Mr. President."
April 25, 2012 | I-Connect007Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Those words are probably some of the most famous words Steve Jobs uttered during the last year of his life. In a 2011 dinner that included Jobs, President Obama and a who's who of Silicon Valley, the president asked Jobs what it would take to bring back to the U.S. the type of assembly work being done in Asia to build Apple's products. Of course, Obama was interested in creating American jobs.
According to one dinner guest, the Apple CEO replied, "Those jobs aren't coming back."
Now, just the other day, a report came out suggesting that Apple could bring these jobs back. The case is laid out in this report: Apple Business Model: Financialization across the Pacific. It's certainly an interesting read. If you're so inclined, have at it. I believe the paper is a bit unrealistic and before I started tearing it apart, I came across this article in Forbes, which says it for me.
Here's another story which appreared in the news which supports the move of manufacturing back to the U.S. Click here to watch the report.
I hope you enjoy these articles.
