Brigitflex Inc., a manufacturer of large circuit boards, has purchased a 60-inch-wide etcher from Chemcut, the United States’ leading manufacturer and supplier of Develop/Etch/Strip equipment. The new etcher will be included with their Exellon 154L Vision Driller & Router System, along with their state-of-the-art Autoclave machine. The new tool will be installed in their Elgin, IL. manufacturing facility.
Brigitflex, Inc. stated, “We pride ourselves in being able to produce our own materials in our presses and adapt to new prototype products and specialty materials. The new Chemcut systems will allow us to continue the tremendous success Brigitflex has experienced over a 40-year history of a single owner company, and further expand our customer base. Many factors impact the quality of the final product, so assess broadly, and you may find that the “the devil is in the details.” Generally, the first place most people can get good product specification measurement is at the end of the etching process, It’s natural and easy to blame quality shortcomings on the etcher. By all means, look at your etcher and invest some time trying to improve its performance but don’t stop there. Other factors may be affecting the etch uniformity.
